Terms of service
These terms explain what you can expect from Tethen and what we expect from you when you use the platform as a coach or as a coach's client.
This document is a plain-English starting point written for the Tethen platform. Have it reviewed by a qualified adviser before you rely on it commercially.
1. Who these terms are between
Tethen provides software that coaches use to run their coaching business: client records, training programmes, nutrition plans, check-ins, bookings, messaging and a record of payments.
Two kinds of people use Tethen. Coaches hold an account for their business and are responsible for it. Clients are invited by a coach and use the branded app that coach shares with them.
Coaching itself is delivered by the coach, not by Tethen. Any agreement about training, nutrition, pricing or refunds is between the coach and their client.
2. Accounts
You must give accurate details when you create an account and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity that happens under your login.
A coach account may have more than one team member. The account owner decides who has access and can remove that access at any time.
You must be old enough to enter a contract in your country to hold a coach account. Coaches are responsible for having the right permissions before adding a client who is a minor.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Coach packages are sold on a recurring basis. Your package sets your client limit and which features are switched on. Add-ons can be bought on top and are charged monthly.
Where a package limit applies, going over it can pause the affected feature until you upgrade or reduce usage.
Payments a coach takes from their own clients are handled by the coach. Tethen records those payments so the coach has a ledger; it does not process them.
You can cancel your package at any time. Access continues to the end of the paid period, after which the account moves to a closed state and data is retained for a limited window before deletion.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Tethen to break the law, to send unsolicited bulk messages, to upload malicious code, or to attempt to access data belonging to another business.
Do not present Tethen content or another person's material as your own where you do not hold the rights to it.
We may suspend an account that puts the platform, its data or other users at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and explain what needs to change.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into Tethen — your programmes, plans, media, client records and messages.
You grant us the permission we need to host, back up and display that content in order to run the service for you.
You are responsible for having the right to use anything you upload, including video links, images and written plans.
6. Health and coaching disclaimer
Tethen is a software tool. It does not provide medical, dietary or fitness advice, and it does not check whether a coach's programme or nutrition plan is suitable for a particular person.
Clients should take medical advice before starting or changing a training or nutrition programme.
7. Availability and support
We work to keep the platform available and to fix faults promptly, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is kept as short as we can make it.
Support is provided by email. Coaches support their own clients on coaching matters; we support coaches on platform matters.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business or indirect losses arising from your use of the platform.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes and ending the agreement
We may update these terms as the platform changes. Where a change materially affects you we will give reasonable notice before it takes effect.
You may stop using Tethen at any time. We may end the agreement if these terms are broken and the issue is not put right.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to the support address shown in your account. Coaches should contact us directly; clients should contact their coach in the first instance.
